Course Details
Date: Oct 25, 2026. 7:30 am

Course Goals
The primary goal of this course is to move beyond "bunion removal" and toward true anatomical reconstruction. Target Participants
- Senior Orthopedic Residents.
- Foot and Ankle Fellows.
- Pediatric Orthopedic Fellows.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Execute Distal Realignments: Master the Chevron Osteotomy for mild-to-moderate cases, including stable internal fixation techniques.
- Perform Proximal Osteotomies: Demonstrate the Scarf Osteotomy for large intermetatarsal angles.
- Master the Lapidus Procedure: Perform the first tarsometatarsal (TMT) joint arthrodesis for patients with significant hypermobility or severe deformity.
Course Highlights
- Forefoot Sawbones Lab: Practical experience performing Chevron and Scarf osteotomies using specialized micro-saws and low-profile compression screws.
- The "Lapidus" Station: Hands-on training in joint preparation and plating for stable TMT fusion.
