Course Details
Date: Dec 27, 2026. 7:30 am
Location: Skill Lab, Al Najaf Teaching Hospital
Course Goals
The primary goal of this course is to master the precision required for "Realignment Surgery." We focus on the biomechanical transition of the mechanical axis, ensuring participants can accurately calculate the required correction angle to achieve a stable, long-lasting functional outcome.
Target Participants
- Senior Orthopedic Residents.
- Arthroplasty Fellows.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Surgical Approaches: Discuss the standard medial parapatellar approach and discuss alternatives like the midvastus or subvastus for specialized cases.
- Execute Precise Bone Resections: Use specialized jigs to perform accurate distal femoral and proximal tibial cuts that respect the patient's native anatomy.
Course Highlights
- Sawbones Lab: Practice the full TKA procedure using the latest instrumentation systems on anatomical knee models.
- The "Gap Balancing" Workshop: A dedicated session on using spacers and tensors to measure and correct gap symmetries.
