Our Department recently conducted its scheduled weekly clinical meeting, bringing together our senior consultant surgeons and residents for an in-depth review of the department's most complex cases. These sessions serve as a vital forum for collaborative decision-making, where the collective expertise of our senior staff is applied to advanced trauma and reconstructive challenges. By fostering a high-level academic environment, we ensure that every patient benefits from a peer-reviewed treatment plan while providing our residents with invaluable exposure to the intricacies of specialized orthopedic care and surgical strategy.

Case of the Week: Management of Recurrent Aneurysmal Bone Cyst (ABC)
In this weekly clinical review, the department discussed a challenging case of a recurrent Aneurysmal Bone Cyst (ABC) in a patient who had undergone their primary operation five years ago. ABCs are known for their locally aggressive nature and a significant recurrence rate, particularly in younger patients. The session focused on analyzing the previous surgical margins and the current radiographic progression to determine the most effective secondary intervention. Our senior surgeons and residents debated the merits of giving a trial for intralesional injection, or the use of more aggressive approaches with curettage and high-speed burring and chemical adjuvants versus more extensive resection to ensure long-term stability and prevent further recurrence.
